Championing Community Recovery from Substance Use Disorders
WHO WE ARE
NuePath International Recovery Network (NIRN) is a registered, youth-led, non-profit organization dedicated to championing community recovery from substance use disorders.
Through a multi-sectoral approach, we proactively fight drug and substance abuse by integrating sustainable recovery initiatives into the fabric of local, regional and international communities.
VISION
We envision drug-free communities and institutions where key stakeholders in society are unified into a proactive recovery network.
MISSION
To foster community recovery from substance use disorders while proactively fighting substance abuse through prevention and awareness programs, rehabilitation and mental health services.
Guided by research and rigorous policy advocacy, NuePath implements sustainable, localized initiatives that transform communities.
WHAT MOTIVATES US
The silent struggle of drug and substance abuse is all around. With the alarming statics showing that about 60% of patients admitted to mental health facilities in countries like Zimbabwe suffer from substance use disorders. We are confronted with a crisis! This is not just a statistic, but a heartbreaking reality for countless families worldwide.
At this pivortal point, that’s where NuePath International Recovery Network (NIRN) steps in as a solution to champion community recovery through a multisectoral approach. Our vision is to create a global and empowered network whose agenda is to integrate recovery initiatives into the fabric of any community, institution and society.
OUR STRATEGIC APPROACH
To maximize sustainable social impact, NuePath integrates community-led recovery initiatives directly into the structural fabric of society. We address substance use disorders and mental health complications through a dual-lens framework.
Global Policy Alignment
Our global network initiatives actively drive the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 3 Target 5, 11, and 17), creating cross-sector partnerships to foster healthy, resilient communities.
Localized National Action
At the national level, our interventions align closely with the objectives of individual state policies, such as Zimbabwe's Multisectoral Drug and Substance Abuse Plan. By leveraging data-driven, community-specific research and advocacy, we ensure our programs and services perfectly match local needs.
WHY WHAT WE DO MATTERS
Most responses to addiction are clinical and individual. But we know that a person heals fully only when their community heals around them. That's why NuePath International Recovery Network (NIRN) was born as a movement of volunteers, families, and local leaders who refuse to lose another life to a battle that can be won together. We bridge the gap between prevention and rehabilitation, between policy and the person struggling alone.
